We know that the challenge to making a great pair of knee guards is to build them in such a way that they are comfortable to pedal in. After all, they can’t protect you if they’re around your ankles. We used lightweight 4-way stretch Cordura fabric to create a knee guard that fits well and doesn’t restrict the pedal stroke, and kept the back open to prevent material from bunching up behind the knee — a primary source of discomfort. D3O viscoelastic material offers excellent protection with minimal weight while maintaining flexibility. The VPD 2.0 Knee protector is a multi-purpose knee protector combining freedom of movement with an exceptional level of impact absorbency. The protector is constructed from a reinforced stretch fabric and features an elastic strap to further secure the pads in place. The protective padding is perforated to improve ventilation and heat control. The Joint VPD 2.0 Knee pad is ideal for downhill riders who require the highest level of protection. The VPD material warms and adapts to the shape of the body, providing freedom of movement, but when exposed to impact, the material hardens, providing exceptional impact absorption.
